Question by linda_ruiz03: Are the releasing any of the other movie posters for “Alice in Wonderland” for purchase?
I’m interested in purchasing three theater posters for the new “Alice in Wonderland” — yet, all I have found online is nothing but the one with Johnny Depp. I don’t like that one at all, and am not a fan of him, too. Are they releasing any of the others on any of the online movie poster stores? I’d really like the one of Alice, the Queen of Hearts, and Twiddle and and Tweedle Dumb.

Question by that guy you never knew: Movie, Movie Posters, TV, Surround sound, what should I get for my room first? Or what should I not get?
Should I buy;

Movies more for my movie collection
A new wide screen TV because I have like a 16 inch one now
Surround sound system for my TV
Movie posters and some other things for my room

I’m trying to make my room look better than it does now because it just looks plain and boring now, I painted the walls and everything so looks a little better but need something new
What should I buy first? Any tips or ideas on where or what I should buy? Thanks tons, have a great day.

Well, it depends upon your interests. IF you enjoy watching movies I would go with the tv and surround sound equipment. IF you enjoy music I would go with a good stereo that could possibly tie in to your entertainment system.

Decorations don’t have to be expensive… just buy things that suit your tastes…

Asking someone else to suggest how you should set up your room seems a bit silly to me; only you know what you like. Just have fun with it!

Original posters (what you’re talking about) are definitely worth something. The value, however, depends on the poster really. It depends on what condition it’s in and also what movie it’s for, thus how rare or old it is. Plus it will depend on which poster it is, meaning most movies have different variations of posters, some rarer than the others, thus more valuable.

For example: A 27″x40″ Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides original poster that has never been folded and shows no creases can be worth like $ 30-40.

Or an original “Why So Serious?” Joker poster (double-sided) from The Dark Knight, in perfect condition could be worth up to $ 300.

Or you can go even more rare and have something like an original Gone With the Wind poster from 1939 that is rolled (never folded) and in perfect condition that could be worth up to $ 4,000.

So, yes, they’re definitely going to be worth something, especially if kept in good condition and never folded. That value just depends on the poster, though. Note though that this type of value is only for originals, not reprints.

In America we have the store FYE and a few others where you can buy movie posters. I’d like to find a store like this in Japan. Does anyone know of any? I’ll be going to Tokyo next weekend there must be a store there. I tried looking online at Japanese retailers but all the posters they sell are in English! I’d like one with Katakana if possible. I need to buy some new posters for my bedroom. I don’t want to spend too much money, but i’m looking for standard size movie posters for movies like The Graduate, Apocalypse Now, Taxi Driver, ETC, maybe some foreign film posters as well (Contempt, Pickpocket, ETC.) I know I can buy these online but I’m not sure how good the quality will be. I don’t want anything cheap or flimsy. Does anyone know where I can buy good quality posters?

I used to get all sorts of posters from music stores, online is another option.

But my recommendation is once you have the posters take them to a laminating company and get them laminated they will last for ever, and look much better.

Movie stores have posters and sometimes if you ask they will give them to you after they display them. Then sometimes they sale them. Well in America, but surely in London also.
