Question by Murri: Where can I find a high quality image archive of movie posters?
Where can I find a high quality (to scale) image archive of movie posters? I can find decent quality images using yahoo or google image search, but I can’t seem to find an archive that deals specifically with movie posters.

It would seem to me that there must be some form of the original images in file if not a high quality oversize scan of the posters in some database. Any clue? Thank You

Question by Daniel C: Why do movie posters sometimes have the wrong name above the actor?
In a lot of posters the wrong name is above the actor or actress. Why is this, doesn’t anyone catch this kind of stuff? I’m talking about, say there’s a movie with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston, why does it sometimes have the names on the wrong sides?

The order of the names is all about billing. Billing is negotiated just as much as salary is. So that order is consistent regardless of what the photo looks like. So if the movie stars Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston , but Ben Affleck has top billing, his name will go first – period. Then the art director has to shoot the poster and say he/she likes a shot where Jennifer Aniston is on the left and Ben Affleck is on the right – if he/she decides that’s the shot that works then that’s what goes on the poster.

In the new movie Suckerpunch with Vanessa Hudgins, what is the font that they are using on the movie posters to spell out the movie title not the characters names.

Most likely they created their own font for the movie poster. Most productions do. However, I’m sure that a “similar version” will be made by a fan soon enough, and those are usually named after the film that they are designed after, so it will most likely be called “Suckerpunch”, or something very close.

Well, I’m a a pretty big movie poster collector. But they are SO damn expensive! Like 12 dollars! So I was just wondering what movie theaters do with posters when the movie is lo longer in theaters?

nope, they have a gallery for them in some, most auction them to people like you, but just ask the theatre and see what happens

What are some good sites that have medium-high resolution images of movie posters? Most sites that sell posters have a watermark. moviepostersdb.com looks good but you have to pay to download images. No way. If I want to pay to see a poster I’ll buy the physical item.

Hi.

I see how many people are able to get genuine movie posters that look like they were hung up as advertisements previously. My question is how I can get a hold of movie posters that I could get for free, and hand them up in my room lets say, or my den, etc.

This is all with no printing, purchasing on my part, just getting them for free.

I’m searching to merchandise outdated horror film posters as t shirts, posters and other products. Some of these videos are public domain, but I am positive there is even now copyright on their artwork. Truly not certain how to start going about this.
